CALLBACK LIST
Thanks so much to everyone who auditioned! Please remember that if you didn’t get called back it doesn’t mean you won’t be cast, and if you did, it doesn’t mean you will be. Don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions about the sides you are called back for. Callbacks will be Wednesday, January 7th right after school.
Karen Nash
Forty eight years old and fine with it. She is witty, and down to earth. She is also secretly hoping the visit at the suite will bring her and her husband closer together.
For the callback side with Jean, we are looking to see Karen’s wry sense of humor. The callback side with Sam takes place during a very emotional conversation, honestly the hardest acting part for Karen. We are looking to see if you can maintain her humor throughout a conversation that is in reality, humorless.
Sam is fifty years old but can not come to terms with it. He is trim, incredibly neat and well tailored. Sam needs to know he looks good, and also that others know he looks good. Workaholic.
In this callback side, Sam has just confessed to Karen that he is having an affair with Jean, his secretary, and doesn’t really know what to say. He has been trying to illicit an emotional response from Karen, who has been acting very cavalier and oddly accepting of his news.
Jean is Sam’s secretary and highly efficient. She is well groomed, attractive, and bright and cheerful at 28 years of age. She is also Sam’s mistress.
Jesse Kiplinger
Forty years old very successful Hollywood producer. Very confident.
Jesse has invited Muriel, an ex-girlfriend from long ago, to his hotel room in order to seduce her, and he only has until 4 o’clock to do it (only 2 hours). Very smooth, charismatic, determined.
Thirties. Naïve and very impressed with Jesse. Unsure and nervous.
Muriel hasn’t seen Jesse in a long time, but has read about him for years in the tabloids. Muriel feels guilty about her buried desires to be seduced by him.
Norma Hubley
Mother of the bride. 40-50.
In this side, Norma’s daughter, Mimsey, has locked herself in the bathroom on her wedding day. Norma is very frantic and afraid to tell her easily riled husband. We are looking for actors to be able to maintain Norma’s desire to fix this situation without upsetting her husband.
The father of the bride. A businessman who doesn’t really know how to deal with his daughter. Very type A.
In this side, you find out for the first time that your daughter, Mimsey, has locked herself in the bathroom on her wedding day. He feels like he’s the only sane person in the scene, and finds his daughter’s actions and his wife’s feelings very difficult to understand.
